About The Photographer

My photo
I have been taking photographs all my life. At age 10, I borrowed my father's old Pentax camera and headed out to the fields. I took my first photography class a year after under the guidance of a documentary filmmaker, developed my first B&W photo and was hooked. I have never stopped "thinking in frames" since. I pursued a career in science that trained me to be thorough, precise, patient. But photography remained my passion and I am only truly happy when behind the camera.

{ Celebrate Love }
Half Moon Bay Photographer
Half Moon Bay Family Photographer

I am going to use simple words. This session was lovely. It was not linked to an upcoming wedding. Or engagement. Or expecting. It was a session that captured a husband and a wife during the stage of their life that is really just theirs. They are enjoying it, appreciating it and wanted to celebrate each other by taking some pictures. The mere awareness of being in the moment and recognizing the beauty of it is so very powerful to me. And the fact that they picked me to capture this time in their life... So honored.

{ Jessica }

Meet Jessica, a high-school student with beautiful long hair...and the most noble intentions! We met in the harbor of her (and mine) coastal hometown just hours before she was headed to her hair stylist to get a short haircut. She donated her hair to a kid with cancer. It warms my heart to be part of her important project...

{ Bow & Arrow } Photo Shoot

Recently, I had the opportunity for a little bit different photo shoot. Photographer Rebekah Dotson and myself went to Embarcadero in San Francisco. We experimented with on- and off- camera flashes and got some interesting pictures. Bay Bridge and Bow & Arrow Statue in dowtown San Francisco? Yes, of course. But such cool prairie-style grasses? Nope, never noticed those before! Just speaks of the fact that photography not only finds order in the chaos of the world but also precious jewels in the most unlikely places.

He is a young, aspiring student of acting. Just returned from NYC where he shot his first independent movie. He needed some headshots for his future career. Something great happens to his face in front of the camera. He is just supposed to be there...
